Ventana Research today announces that veteran analyst Steve Goldberg is joining the firm as Vice President and Research Director. Goldberg will be responsible for the overall direction of the Human Capital Management practice at Ventana Research, covering major research areas including Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS), Talent Management and Workforce Management, with an emphasis on advances and innovations in recruiting, learning management, performance management, compensation management, and payroll systems.
Prior to joining Ventana Research, Goldberg spent more than 30 years in the HR field, holding senior positions at UBS/Swiss Bank Corp, PeopleSoft, and Bersin & Associates, as well as operating his own advisory firm for many years. With a depth of knowledge and experience in HR markets ranging from compensation management and HR management to the marketing of HR products, Goldberg will bring a new level of leadership to the business technology research industry.
”I am really excited to bring Steve’s significant domain expertise and analyst acumen to our team. ” noted Mark Smith, CEO & chief research officer. “His joining Ventana Research will help continue our growth and leadership in human capital management. With Steve’s tenure in the industry on both vendor and user sides, he adds a fountain of experience-based expertise that will help guide our clients in understanding why and where HCM technology is best applied in business and IT, both today and in the future. Instead of just bringing a set of opinions and an IT-only lens to the table as the majority of industry analysts, Steve will be able to draw on his real-world domain experience and a knowledge base of research facts on best practices and trends from across industries in all areas of HCM. The result will be the best possible advice to buyers and users on the next generation of HCM technology but also the future direction of HCM itself.”
At Ventana Research, Goldberg will focus on the expansion of HCM technologies, including the growing understanding of the need for powerful and integrated systems and which innovations are delivering the most value from the workforce for organizations.
Goldberg will also be responsible for servicing Ventana Research clients across all areas of HCM, ensuring they benefit from the company's world-class education and research through workshops, assessments and the fact- and education-based advisory service called Ventana OnDemand, a service that helps guide buyers and users to the right decision on technologies, vendors and approaches. He will also be responsible for leading benchmark research and the vendor and product analysis and comparison research that is presented as the Ventana Research Value Index.
“I am extremely excited to join Ventana Research, bringing my broad-based experience on all sides of HR and HCM Technology over three decades”, said Goldberg. “The team, clients, services and potential are obviously impressive, and I have always had a deep appreciation for the research-based approach and balanced guidance Ventana Research brings to the analyst industry. I look forward to contributing to the research agenda and being part of the management team.”
