        Wanzl Earns Digital Leadership Award in HCM with Ceridian for 2022

This award recognizes the individual, organization and technology that best exemplifies leadership in support of human capital management. All award finalists in the Human Capital Management expertise area were considered for this prestigious award.

        Ventana Research selected Wanzl for the 15th Annual Digital Leadership Award in HCM for its use of Ceridian to improve its processes for payroll and time-related activities. Founded in 1947, Wanzl’s core business began with wire shopping carts. The company has expanded into many other areas of retail logistics and planning, but shopping carts remain a key focus. Today, Wanzl is the world’s largest manufacturer of shopping carts, creating and distributing approximately 2.5 million annually. Headquartered in Germany, Wanzl employs over 5,000 people worldwide. With many workers performing field-based jobs, communication and coordination are key. Wanzl is on the leading edge of technology for retail logistics and manufacturing, but wanted to automate HR and payroll needs for processing, time tracking and related worker communication.

        Wanzl selected Ceridian’s Dayforce for this initiative as its best option to unlock data, reduce operational spend and boost organizational efficiency while creating experiences workers expect. The flexibility of Dayforce’s cloud-based platform made integration and adoption simple for stakeholders across a diverse workforce – especially remote workers. Deploying one system helped streamline worker and manager communication at a time when clear and consistent communication was critical.

        Now Wanzl team members manage their schedules, see their pay slips, book time-off requests and update personal information through the Dayforce mobile app, resulting in fewer inquiries to the HR team. At a corporate level, this initiative has significantly reduced time spent on administrative tasks, allowing the HR team to focus on strategic issues like workforce planning, and keep pulse on the growth and direction of executive talent in support of Wanzl’s business priorities. Dayforce has helped ensure compliance with legislation across the UK and Ireland, especially in relation to tax, pensions, national minimum wage, public holidays, bank holidays and gender pay gap reporting.

        Dayforce also helps Wanzl improve customer service by aligning when workers are onsite with the store’s busiest times. Eliminating manual processing and the inevitable correction of payroll errors saves time in payroll administration. Benefits include improved visibility and productivity across the organization and lower employee absenteeism and turnover. Wanzl and Sarah Smith earned this award because the organization is positioned for growth with the adoption of an innovative HCM application in Dayforce.
