Ventana Research is sharing insights about Workforce Software, drawn from our latest Value Index research, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements. The 2022 Ventana Research Value Index: Workforce Management is a distillation of a year of market and product research efforts.

Workforce Software’s Workforce Suite is an application suite supporting three areas: intelligence, experience and performance. In the intelligence area, it includes analytics, insights, chatbot and assistant. Included in the Experience area are chat, documents, surveys and training. The Performance are deals with absence ad leave, labor forecasting, scheduling, time and attendance. The platform that supports these applications includes range of authentication, automation, compliance, integration and personalization. A range of deployment accelerators includes time clocks, compliance, fatigue and templates.

In all of our Value Indexes, we utilize a structured research methodology that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for proposal and vendor selection process for workforce management. We evaluated Workforce Software and 12 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (Adaptability, Capability, Manageability, Reliability and Usability) and two related to the vendor (Total Cost of Ownership/Return on Investment and Vendor Validation). To arrive at the Value Index rating for a given vendor, we weighted each category to reflect its relative importance in an RFP process, with the weightings based on our experience and on data derived from our Benchmark Research on Workforce Management.

Workforce Software was categorized as an Exemplary Vendor, ranking second overall in this Value Index evaluation. It ranked fifth in Product Experience, where it performed best in Reliability, and ranked third in Usability and Capability. It ranked second in Customer Experience, and was a Value Index Leader in TCO/ROI. Its overall performance was impacted by its lower rankings in Adaptability and Capability, which represent 35% of the weighting in the overall Value Index.

Our assessment finds that Workforce Software could perform better in Adaptability, where it ranked seventh, in the area of business integration to other processes. In Capability, where it ranked third, it could similarly examine the integration-specific support with relevant human capital management and talent management systems and tools. This assessment was based on Workforce Software’s Workforce Suite products available in September of 2021
