We are happy to share some insights about Paycor drawn from our latest market research, Ventana Research Buyers Guide: Domestic Payroll, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements.

In all of our Buyers Guides, we utilize a structured research methodology called the Value Index that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process. We evaluated Paycor and 10 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (adaptability, capability, manageability, reliability and usability) and two related to the vendor (TCO/ROI and vendor validation).

Our analysis classified Paycor as a vendor of Assurance, receiving an overall grade of B with a 65.3% performance. Paycor’s best grouped results came in Customer Experience at 76.9% performance and a B++ grade due in part to its A- in Validation. In Product Experience, Paycor received a B grade with a 62.8% performance due to its 54.5% performance in Manageability.

Paycor fully participated in the RFI process.

Paycor’s B grade in Product Experience was impacted by its C++ in Manageability where it could offer better SLAs for service uptime and support response time. Customer Experience was impacted by its B+ grade in TCO/ROI where it could offer further insight into their agility and competitiveness in the market.

Paycor performed best in Customer Experience with a B++ grade, notably in Validation, receiving an A- due to its marketing of the offered customer experience. In TCO/ROI, Paycor offers detailed project information to build a customer’s business case. Paycor’s optimized screen design led to its B in Usability.

This assessment was based on Paycor HCM Cor Bundle, v. SaaS, released September 2023.
