Paycom is Vendor of Merit in Domestic Payroll Buyers Guide

We are happy to share some insights about Paycom drawn from our latest market research, Ventana Research Buyers Guide: Domestic Payroll, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements.  

In all of our Buyers Guides, we utilize a structured research methodology called the Value Index that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process. We evaluated Paycom and 10 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (adaptability, capability, manageability, reliability and usability) and two related to the vendor (TCO/ROI and vendor validation).  

Our analysis classified Paycom as a vendor of Merit, receiving an overall grade of C++ with a 52.5% performance. Paycom’s best grouped results came in Product Experience at 54.0% performance and a C++ grade due in part to its B in Capability. In Customer Experience, Paycom received a C+ grade with a 46.1% performance due to its 44.2% performance in Validation. Paycom did not participate in the RFI process. 

Paycom’s C++ grade in Product Experience was impacted by its D grade in both Adaptability and Manageability where it could offer more in-depth preconfigured customization and performance management. Customer Experience was impacted by its C+ grade in Validation where it could increase transparency into the onboarding process for new customers.  

Paycom performed best in Product Experience with a C++ grade, notably in Capability, receiving a B due to its available tools that increase productivity for payroll administrators and employees. In Usability where it also received a B, Paycom provides an optimized web browser experience for users. Paycom’s plethora of varied case studies publicly available led to its C+ in Validation.
