        Oracle is Exemplary in the Workforce Management Value Index

        We are happy to share some insights about Oracle, drawn from our latest Value Index research, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements. The Ventana Research Value Index: Workforce Management is a distillation of a year of market and product research efforts.

        VR_VI_WFM_Logo (4) (3)-2Oracle Workforce Management and Oracle Cloud HCM connects human resource process from hire to retire across devices, and enables the ability to forecast labor and workload demand, define and assign schedules, capture time worked and absences, and adhere to labor laws and pay rules.

        In all of our Value Indexes, we utilize a structured research methodology that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for proposal and vendor selection process for workforce management. We evaluated Oracle and 12 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (Adaptability, Capability, Manageability, Reliability and Usability) and two related to the vendor (Total Cost of Ownership/Return on Investment and Vendor Validation). To arrive at the Value Index rating for a given vendor, we weighted each category to reflect its relative importance in an RFP process, with the weightings based on our experience and on data derived from our Benchmark Research on Workforce Management.

        Ventana_Research_Value_Index_Workforce_Management_2021_Oracle (1)Oracle was categorized as an Exemplary Vendor, ranking seventh overall in this Value Index evaluation. It ranked third in Product Experience, and was designated as a Value Index Leader in Reliability. It ranked fourth in Customer Experience, where it performed best in Validation. Its overall performance was impacted by its lower rankings in Capability and TCO/ROI, which represent 30% of the weighting in the overall Value Index.

        Our assessment finds that Oracle could perform better in Capability — where it ranked — seventh, in depth of support for activity and task management and collaboration with workers. In TCO/ROI, where it ranked sixth, Oracle could provide more information on the cost of ownership framework and the tools it provides organizations. Oracle fully participated in the Value Index process. This assessment was based on Oracle’s HCM and workforce management products available in May of 2021, and has since released improvements to absence management for assignment, validation improvements and time and labor management for audit and changes.
