About the Benchmark
The changes in HRMSs and other human capital management systems and the introduction of new technologies are facilitating an evolution of HR processes. Key focus points of this research examined the changing role of the HRMS in organizations, how new technologies such as business collaboration are being integrated into the HRMS and related applications HR personnel use, how the applications are accessed through mobile devices and finally the perceived value these new technologies add to core HR applications such as the HRMS. It examined the changing needs of HR for information related to benefits and pay and to compliance with regulations and policies.
The research investigated new technologies being incorporated into or working with HR applications, identify the specific HR processes for which they are being adopted, and determine which are perceived to provide the greatest value to the organization. It examined the use of self-service applications on mobile devices by both employees and managers, the processes for which they are being used, and the extent of adoption. The research can inform suppliers and buyers, educate the market and provide indicators of the receptiveness of market to new technologies and products. With best practices and insights on the next generation of HRMS, this research can help assess existing investments and determine new ones that will help organizations gain most value from their systems and workforce.
