Many human capital management products focus on managing talent after employees are hired. However, equally important is what happens before employees are hired – the process of finding the best candidates and getting them on board. Jobscience brings these two worlds together with software that simplifies the processes of getting the right talent ready to work as quickly as possible. It does this with a suite of applications that cover recruiting, onboarding, learning and managing of employees. Its application suite, TalentCloud, includes key applications such as Recruiter Desktop, Manager Desktop and Employee Portal. Particularly interesting is the way Jobscience improves the recruiting process by including links to social media, which increasingly is a critical channel in which to access potential talent. Our benchmark research into social recruiting found that half of organizations use social media on a weekly or more frequent basis.

The company uses a foundation of salesforce.com CRM applications and translates them for human capital management. By using the cloud computing platform and applications as the basis for its products, Jobscience can benefit from other advances that salesforce brings to market, from integration of the social networking technology Chatter to analytics and reports. Organizations can also look at the broader set of cloud-based applications that are part of Salesforce AppExchange. However, Jobscience must improve its workforce analytics that rely on salesforce’s capabilities, which lack the flexibility and sophistication required to address what our workforce analytics benchmark has found to be one of the most important areas of improvement for HR. To this point, however, salesforce has expressed limited public support for Jobscience.

Recruiting and retaining talent and empowering employees with mobile and social capabilities and a common place for workforce information should be central to HR’s mission. Jobscience’s approach to extending its applicant tracking software to social media channels means it is offering the top capability desired by 49 percent of organizations in our research. The applications’ simplicity and usability and the use of cloud computing makes it easy for organizations to sign up and get started. We advise organizations to take a close look at Jobscience.
